These past 33 years have yielded many accomplishments for minorities. However, those accomplishments were not achieved without struggle. The struggle for more than 30 years has attested to the lack of empowerment for minorities in the area of economic inclusion. The ability for one to financially sustain oneself- represents one of the most powerful entities in America - economic freedom.

MOKAN is proud to have assisted in economically empowering thousands of minority women and men. Nevertheless, the struggle is far from over. Everyone agrees that if St. Louis is to grow and prosper we must grow and prosper together as a region, we must ensure that sincere and unified action be taken to increase and sustain minority business and workers in the region.

As MOKAN continues to be the brick and mortar assisting local MBE/WBE contractors in the construction industry and related fields in St. Louis and surrounding areas with trade, technical assistance, training and contracting opportunities. We are consulting with our political leaders, exchanging dialog with the AGC, Labor Unions, MODOT, Grass Root organizations, Community Leaders and concerned citizens. We continue to increase our efforts to raise the bar and level the playing field for minority participation and inclusion on construction projects.
