The MOKAN 44th Anniversary Awards Dinner
MOKAN 44th AWARDS DINNER
Since 1974 MOKAN has been a leader in advancing opportunities of growth for minority and female businesses within the St. Louis Metropolitan area. MOKAN in 2010, launched the MOKAN Institute through a collaborative partnership with St. Louis Community College. In 2012 MOKAN expanded its facilities to 4666 Natural Bridge which is now known as the MOKAN Business and Educational Center. Through this expansion MOKAN has continued to not only service the needs of the minority construction community but has expanded its services to other minority businesses and workers.
This year MOKAN will host “Pioneering With The Private Sector” the 44th MOKAN Awards Anniversary Dinner which will be held at the Renaissance St. Louis Airport Hotel, November 16th, 2018. This event will bring together public, private, and non-profit industry stakeholders and expose minority business owners and workers to the region’s top industries, with a primary focus on expanding capacity building and workforce opportunities. This event marks over 44 years of service to the construction community. MOKAN will honor minority business owners and Corporate partners who have demonstrated commitment to enhancing the lives of others throughout the region.

MOKAN Apprenticeship Training Program
MOKAN Apprenticeship Training Program will be central to meeting St. Louis’ construction workforce development challenges by providing sustainable and widely recognized career opportunities for local residents raising the productivity and increasing their competitiveness. MOKAN’s Apprenticeship Training Program has partnered with the Department of Labor and St. Louis Agency for Training and Employment (SLATE) and will assist the St. Louis region in its economic recovery. As our economy continues to recover, there is a real opportunity to make MOKAN’s program a mainstream education and career pathway option; one that can help contractors build the strongest, most adaptable, and most credentialed diverse workforce in the area.
MOKAN Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program
MOKAN will ensure the success of our apprentices through the implementation of a pre-apprenticeship program module specifically designed with industry-based training; coupled with classroom instruction to prepare non-traditional construction workers to enter and succeed within any Registered Apprenticeship program union or non-union.
